Linsday Elementary

Welcome to Ms. Sinclair's classroom!

I am very proud to be a part of the Linsday family as a 3rd grade teacher.

I have been teaching in Bay City since I moved here from Toronto, Canada 8 years ago. Four of those years were spent working as a substitute teacher. I got to visit lots of different classrooms and buildings. I taught second grade for 4 years and recently began teaching Young Fives. I love teaching at Linsday. The building is full of wonderful staff and students energized to learn. I have a 15 month old daughter at home, so my days are filled with the fun free-spirit of young people.

Currently, in Young Fives we are getting ready for the challenges that lie ahead in Kindergarten. We are working on alphabet and number recognition, as well as working with shapes and colors. The students are already taking part in early literacy activities such as early reading and writing. So many of our Young Fives' activities are hands-on, using manipulatives that help develop fine motor skills like holding a pencil and cutting. A big part of our curriculum is practicing learning behaviors that will help the students be successful as they move through their early elementary schooling. Each day, the students participate in independent centers which reinforce newly learned skills.

We have a vibrant, busy, energetic classroom!
